Until the new constitution from 2013 the Canton of Luzern was divided into five districts, in Luzern called Ämter: Entlebuch, Hochdorf, Luzern, Sursee and Willisau. Instead of the Ämter, there are now constituencies (Wahlkreise) and judicial districts (Gerichtsbezirke). The constituencies still have the same names and areas as the former Ämter (With a few exceptions). The former Amt of Luzern has been divided into Luzern-Land and Luzern-Stadt.
